St.Oswald’s Christmas card exchange

is up and running again. Usual system: put cards in the pockets labelled with surname initials, and don’t forget to check for cards sent to you!

Christmas flowers

St.Oswald’s Church will be decorated on Saturday 16th December starting at 9.30 am. Anyone is welcome to join the regular flower arrangers and help on that day. Donations towards the cost of the flowers can be handed to Judith Sadler, Rachel Chipchase, Celia Yates or any of the regular flower arrangers and will be gratefully received.

New Year’s Eve 2017.

We are holding a party in St.Oswald’s Church Centre to see in the New Year. We will start at 7.30pm with a bring and share supper and after a bit of fun and games move into the church to ring in the new year.  If you would like to join us please sign up in the south transept.

Christmas Cards and presents will be coming to, and going from our homes over the next few weeks. This is just a reminder for us all to collect the stamps off the envelopes and parcels and bring them to the box in St.Oswald’s South Transept for USPG. They really do make a lot of money for the society. So don't 'bin' them - 'box' them!

Also, employment and how difficult it is to embrace it is a constant topic for some people. TWAM (Tools With A Mission) seeks to provide the equipment to give trained persons the opportunity to make a living for themselves, their families and their extended families in Africa and other countries. If you would like to help such a person, TWAM have a leaflet "Gifts for the Journey" copies of which are on the TWAM stand in the S. Transept. Please take one if you are interested. Thank you.         Joe Lister

Experience Christmas

A big thank you to all those who came together and worked so hard to tell this amazing story to the 275 children from 7 schools. Angel card makers, station builders who lent their own belongings, ribbon cutters, station hosts, pencil sharpeners, time keepers, coffee makers, juice servers. I have heard some stories about the children going home to tell their parents all about it - so we really have brought the reason for the season into homes in Ashbourne and the surrounding villages. You are all stars, thank you for your smiles and sparkle. If you haven't already picked up your ‘thank you ‘card, please do.                         Carollyn
