St Oswald’s Electoral Roll 

will be revised between 21st and 28th February 2018. If you are already on the roll you do not need to take any action. If you would like to join the Roll, become a member of our church, be able to attend the Annual Meeting and to take part in its proceedings, then please fill in an application form (available from the vestry – clergy or churchwardens).

Lent Courses will be run on Wednesday evenings.

Edmund Urquhart’s Housegroup

Studying and discussing Matthew chapters 18 - 28 each Thursday morning in Lent at 1 Hambleton Close, 10.15 to 11.30. Refreshments and study notes will be provided free of charge and a warm welcome is assured to any new participants.

St.Oswald’s Lent Course

based on the film ‘The King’s Speech’, will run on Wednesdays, starting on 21st March, from 7.30-9.00pm in the Church Centre (in the Methodist hall on 7th March). No cost - everyone welcome!

Fairtrade Church Lent Challenge: 

1. Check your regular brand of tea or coffee. If it isn’t fairtrade, then change to a fairtrade one.

2.  Put at least one fairtrade item in your shopping basket each week.     

Samples of Fairtrade tea and coffee to taste (different brands from different shops) will be available after the 10.30am service at St Oswald’s on 18th February

BBC Radio 3's 'Essential Classics' - the daily morning show from 9-noon - is going to make short announcements as often as possible for Evensongs that are happening around the country on any given day.

St.Oswald’s has a service of sung Evensong every Sunday, with full Choral Evensong once a month. All are welcome at this traditional service.

Women’s World Day of Prayer: All God’s Creation is Very Good 

St Oswald’s Church 11a.m Friday 2nd March. Join with an estimated 3 million people around the world in a service written by the women of Suriname in South America. With its vast rainforests and wealth of resources Suriname asks us to pray for conservation and the protection of wildlife through awareness of pollution, misuse and abuse as well as for the situation in Suriname and concerns for the future. This is a day of prayer for everyone who cares for our world and those who live in it. Please join us. For more information speak to Nancy Bell.

Lent display in St.Oswald’s

Do have a look at the display in the case in the North Transept, which helps to explain what is happening in the church in the weeks leading up to Easter.
