A huge thank you to Michael Halls, who has just retired after 27 years of ministry as Director of Music at St Oswald’s Church, Ashbourne. We wanted to share our immense gratitude for everything he has given to St Oswald’s Church.
It is difficult to put into words the profound impact his ministry has had on our community. For nearly three decades, his leadership has complemented our worship. He has not simply directed music; he has built community, grown people’s faith, elevated our prayers, and deepened our connection to the divine.
Through every service, anthem, and hymn, he has helped us find a voice for our faith, providing comfort in times of sorrow and soaring joy in times of celebration. The dedication he has shown to the musical life of St Oswald’s Church has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who have sat in our pews.
We thank him for his tireless commitment, artistry, and the spiritual depth he brought. While we will miss his presence at the organ and as a conductor, we wish him a retirement filled with the same harmony and peace he has so generously shared with us!
