I’ve been praying a lot as I get ready for our Visioning Awayday on Saturday 7 March, from 10am to 3pm at Hulland Ward Village Hall. Lunch is on us – and there's still time to sign up! Please do so by Monday 3 March so we can plan lunch.
As I pray and reflect, a few questions have come to mind that I’d love for you to think and pray about, too.
- Remember a time when you felt engaged, alive, and motivated by what was going on at one or more of our churches. Who was involved? What did you do? What happened?
- At the present time, what is it that excites you about ministry at our churches?
- When you think about how our churches have related to our communities, what do you think has been most important?
- When you are at your best, how do you express God’s love and mercy to those outside the church?
- Make a wish for the future of our churches. What would the churches look like in five years if it all came true? In ten years’ time? In twenty?
- How can we live, starting tomorrow, as if it were already true?
Your voice is important, and I hope representatives from each of our churches will be present that day. As we pray for our churches' work and witness, also pray for our schools and communities that they may experience God's love. If you're unable to attend, please pray for us as we gather. You might want to close your time of prayer with:
Lord Jesus, give us your vision for the future of our churches. Guide us in sharing responsibility, in caring for those in need, and in reaching out to those who don’t yet know you. Help us to be a people of faith and action. Amen.
We commit ourselves to the service of all our churches. Give us the faith to see the possibilities before us and the courage to explore the avenues of service waiting to be explored. Take what we are and direct what we would be, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Blessings,
Dwayne
